Yahhh

Try it. Open your mouth, take a big breath and let out a big Yahhh! Ah that feels better now doesn't it? It has been a little hectic, so sorry for the delay in posts.

This past weekend Sam and I went to Kanab. It is a small town that is right on the border of Arizona. Needless to say we weren't prepared for the SNOW that blew in when we got there. We were hoping for mild temps and lots of sunshine.

We were able to explore ancient Anasazi Indian ruins, see vistas that linger only in dreams, trod the road MUCH less traveled by...and regain appreciation for the beauty, diversity and majesty of nature.

I will be posting pics with detailed descriptions as soon as I get my film. This was a much needed trip for us. We don't often get to do things like this together or alone. It is all I can do to get to the bathroom alone! LOL!!! I need more YAHHHs.

Sure is a Sunday

Ah, Sunday! WHOOSH...that was the sound of the last week. That was the sound of it rushing past without even a momentary pause to catch a breath. And here we stand on the brink of a new week, another day...better take a breath, this might be your only chance.
It is gray and heavy outside. The threat of rain lingers in scent and feel. All is wet and waking all around. Spring is just around the corner and I can see it in nature, and feel it in my heart. Just today E. asked when we could go swimming. And she was all serious about it too! Within children is that innocence of all being new. Do you remember that? When everything was a curiosity and thousands of questions rolled off your tongue?
So hats off to spring. Soon we will be digging in fresh dirt, tugging weeds and singing to the flowers!!! Heres to sunshine and barefoot days...butterflies, birds and all. Here is to rainy, gray days with popcorn and movies and babies snuggled all around.
Mmmm, isn't life delicious. It sure is a Sunday.

Snow for Sea

The snow is melting, the mud is emerging, and my heart longs for the sea. That is how I know that spring fever has officially arrived! As I stare out the window across the ocean of white my mind is filled with scenes of days gone by. Days spent on the sea... the smell of sunscreen, the taste of fresh grilled shrimp... Ahhh, how I long to rip off my shoes and run unheeded through the sand. Is it freedom? Or the call of the wild? The wild within me that has been bottled up for too long. I am looking for any chance to pack up and run. To embrace the colors of sunset at the edge of the world. Come with me and trade snow for sea...
