Unconditional Love

Today I am missing Mom.  Sam's Mom.  She had ovarian cancer.  It won, eventually.  Cancer sucks.  It has been two years.  And it is funny how the world keeps turning.  The sun rises, the world turns and the sun sets.  A heartbeat.  One moment bleeds into the next.  But the pain is still there.  With all the love she gave me, I ask myself, what am I doing to make a difference...

One way I am trying is to have unconditional love...just like she did.  She loved everyone.  And I mean everyone!  Never passed judgement, never even questioned...  She simply loved.  Love is the key.  When she began to get really sick, and didn't know who we were anymore, she still loved.  She was kind and gentle. It had become habit for her to show kindness.  In word and deed.  It was so much a part of her, when she no longer even knew who she was...the Christlike attributes were still there.  Like Unconditional love.

Will I make a difference?
I don't know...
I simply love with no expectations, with no regret.  You don't even have to love me back.  Just know, that I love you.

Love,
Me :)

A little bit of paint always helps...

Well, I finally got around to painting something.  Big surprise, huh.  My laundry room is now a beautiful contemporary grey.  And I love it!  It is crisp, and new.  Strange words for grey.  It makes the room have gorgeous lines and makes the beadboard in there just stand out!  ( Now it is time to paint the beadboard )  LOL!!!

Nothing makes me feel better than a brand new room.  And for 20 bucks...you just can't beat it!

Attack of the Lawn Chair

Sunday.  The wonderful day of rest.  It was a lovely Sunday here...  The sun was shining.  Birds were singing.  Flowers in bloom...

Then along came a lawn chair.  A blue beach chair to be exact... the kind that sits on the beach.  ( Hence beach chair...)  Beach chairs are only about 6 little inches off the ground.  Hard to get into and out of...but hey.  If you ever need a reason to workout...get one.  It is very inspiring!

Anyway... Sam decided he needed some sunshine.  He went out with Ellie and his trusty crutches.  She was playing and Sam was soaking up some Vitamin D.  It was great, until he reached for the pillow.  The chair collapsed on him.  Remember Sam has that brand new shiny hip pinned inside of him...  It hurt so bad he couldn't call out for help.  His head was on the ground.  His feet were on the ground.  His bottom was up in the air approximately 6 inches.  Ellie ran over and said..."Dad, your chair fell down...!"  Sam tried his best to get Ellie to help him up.  Not so easy with that hip stuff going on.  So, now he has a hurt back AND a hurt hip.  Poor Sam.  We just love him... :)  And put him to bed.  It is almost like having a toddler, in grown man size.  Now he just needs adult diapers and we will have it made.

Hope your lawn chair treats you better!

Hip Hip Hooray...

Sam has a shiny new hip...sort of.  On Monday the gracious Dr. at the Uof U Orthopedic Center, cut Sam open.  And fixed his hip.  Not a brand spankin new one, mind you...but may as well be!  We are all crossing our fingers that this one will hold up for at least 7 years...then he will be able to have a hip replacement... on both sides, no less.

We live a really exciting life.  Should I get Sam some tennis balls for his walker?  After watching UP..it seemed like the perfect gift... Ha, ha!!!

He is doing well considering what has been done.  He is up and about with his crutches.  Doesn't complain much...and likes to go sit outside in the sunshine.  Yesterday he was crusing around on the 4-wheeler with his crutches in the rifle rest.  I should have taken a picture.  Sam, side saddle in pj's...it was hilarious!

Anyway...that is about it.
Hope you have a beautiful weekend!
