We left the Utah snow behind us and drove to the California sunshine to spend the weekend with my dear friend Melissa. Who knew that a book could unite hearts and friends so deeply? Melissa was kind enough to open her home and family to our invasion. Overnight her home grew to double the usual capacity... and strangely enough, our kids are all nearly the exact same age! They have made fast friendships that I hope will last a lifetime. It feels to me that we have all known each other much longer than a few days.
The kids have played and played and played. It is fun to hear them using their imaginations and running around like little heathens. It makes me cringe a bit to realise how loud my kids are. We have no neighbors and a 5 acre farm for them to run wild on. That doesn't translate to the city very well, but, no one has complained...yet. O.o
This morning, Melissa and I went to the local park and participated in a 'bootcamp' in hopes that all the peanut butter bars we have consumed would be burned up in the lung burning exercises we did. It was awesome!
The best part of the day, is how I lost my keys. ( My brain went years ago...) We were going to have a fun filled day on roller coasters in the sunshine. We got cleaned up and got ready to go...um, where are the keys?! *sigh* The kids wanted to hang out anyway. Ellie is whining and Katie has been crying, so how about a book, a sandwich and a hug? That will do.
Maybe tomorrow if I find my keys we can go ride some roller coasters...or, maybe we will just hang on the beach and boogie board!
