Time Flies when you are having fun...

Where does it go?

It has been insanely busy here. Riley is playing football right now. Ah, the joy of freezing your bottom off while screaming at the top of your lungs. On top of that are the regular things that 12 year old boys do. Church stuff, scouts... Sometimes I wonder how to keep my head on straight!

Katie is taking piano and loving it. ( I hope this lasts...after dance, violin, art, and whatever else she comes up with) She also has Achievement Days at church. It is a program that helps young girls learn about the gospel in relation to... being responsible as a young woman, and just plain fun stuff. Like cooking and scrapbooking.

Ellie is dancing this year. Which is quite nice. Perhaps she can jump, spin and twirl some of the energy right out of her! ( Probably not...) But it is cute to watch her practice at home! She loves to practice piano with Katie, and the impromptu concerts are second to none. If you LOVE, and I mean LOVE hot cross buns, old mcdonald had a farm and Mary had a little lamb...then this is the place to be!

Sam is still Mr. Workaholic. With work and school...I find it a relief to see him in bed each night. Now if he could just conquer insomnia. Stupid Insomnia. He did snore last night, which I thought was really cute.

And me. Well. I'm still here. Teaching Yoga, certifying for Pilates, and as always juggling which shoes to fill next! It is always an interesting day here. And I am glad. I miss being home every day, but I love being with the kids and running around...because they are trapped in the car with me. Mwhahahaha! And they have to talk to me. As we travel, I learn alot about my kids. And realize how very much I love them. They really are my greatest joy. ( even when they fight)

So, have a happy day everyone.

I *heart* being a woman

It takes all my courage.
It takes all my faith.
It takes all my hope.

And yet, here I am.
Strong. Determined. Feminine.
I am a Mother.
I am a wife.
I am a sister.
I am a daughter.

Most of all, I am divine.
Born of divine parentage.
My spirit soars free.
A gift.
To bless the nations.

I *heart* being a woman!

A glimpse of Heaven

The phone rang at 2:30 this morning...

With life moving in so many different directions, when the phone rings in the wee hours we have come to expect sad news.

Not today!

My dear friend Meg was in labor. And she wanted me to assist in the coaching and birth of her baby. As a Doula, it is a great joy to experience and witness many different women bring life into this world!

Today was no exception!

Meg and her husband made a wonderful team. Working together, breathing together, holding hands and making the best out of an uncomfortable situation. It kept coming to my mind that this is the reason women grace the earth. To be mothers. It was such a comfort to me, to take my mind through the generations of time...and see mothers of every age. This is what we do. We are mothers, even those who bare no child. It is a mother heart that beats in our chests. It is the tie that binds. It is the knowing smile that is given from woman to woman. Only a woman truly knows the sacrifice involved to nurture and birth a child. To bring souls into this world. To bring life into this generation.

What a gift! Women are God's supreme creation. We bless the earth with joy, love and laughter. With bare feet and sunshine. Hands that lift and hearts that sing. We bear each others burdens. And follow the greatest example ever known to walk the face of the earth. Jesus Christ. Hand in hand with the Savior of the World, women become the lifeline. The link between heaven and earth!

Congratulations Meg!
On a healthy, beautiful baby boy!!!
May the Lord bless you both all the days of your life.
XOXO

Autumn...my favorite!

I came across a quote on a good friends blog...and I just HAD to share it!

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns. -George Eliot

Isn't that yummy??? I love fall. The colors. The smells. The crisp air. I was born in the fall, married in the fall...perhaps it will always be a time of rebirth for me. I realize most people equate that with Spring. But I am not most people... Fall is a time of personal reflection for me. A time to start anew. There is just something magical about watching the earth shed its skin and go to sleep that makes me want to change. To be better. To live life more fully.

And before you know it the trees huddle together naked. The snow swirls to the ground covering the world in a blanket of silent white. Every shade of gray seems bleak compared to the riot of color given in autumn. Then we tiptoe outside to catch the flakes on our tongues. Every season is a gift. Each unique in beauty!

But Fall is still my favorite...

Life Lessons...

Here are the 45 Lessons Life Taught Me from Regina Brett:

1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and
parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.

8. It’s OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.

12. It’s OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their
journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don’t worry; God
never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is
up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don’t take no
for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.
Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words ”In five years,
will this matter?”.

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time, time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did
or didn’t do.

35. Don’t audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative – dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d
grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

42. The best is yet to come.

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift.

Happy Birthday SAM!

Today is a special day. For a special Guy! Yup. It is Sam's birthday!!! *WOOT*

To celebrate we are having a tail gate party at the BYU Stadium before the game tonight. All of his siblings are coming with their families. We will grill, laugh and just hang out. Then into the game to watch them make utter complete fools of themselves. It really is quite amusing from my stand point!

Tomorrow we will have Chili and homemade cupcakes...

Happy Birthday Sam!
I am so glad you are mine!!!
XOXO
