Life is crazy, then it throws rocks!

This year has been a real doozy for us.

I keep waiting for it to get different, not better...just different.
So much for that!

My Grandpa, ( whom we call Big Daddy ), was diagnosed with cancer last week.
Not being able to get clear information from the family in Louisiana... I will be flying down in about a week. To find out what is going on, and what I can do to help.

All in all it is ever the same here. School, piano, violin, yoga, blah, blah, blah.
Laundry, dinner, dishes, mopping, blah, blah, blah. So at least there is one constant!

Steadily the holiday season is approaching. Honestly, I am looking forward to it. I love the holidays! It will be an interesting one with Sam's mom gone... with so much of the focus around his family the last 5 years, it will be different to have small, simple holidays around here.

By small and simple things, great things come to pass...

So, I am throwing some rocks back at life.
When the going gets tough, I get violent.
Ha, ha!

Tackle it Tuesday

With inspiration from Kathy...aka inspiredbytwilight,
I have decided to add a tackle it Tuesday on my blog.

I didn't take any before pictures, because, wellll...
Who knew two little girls could be so gross?!???

Needless to say, today I cleaned the girls room.
Closet, under the beds, scrubbed the windows and walls,
swept the baseboards, cleaned out blankets, toys and gosh
knows what else!!!

Then stripped down the beds, aired out pillows, washed and
remade the beds...vacuumed

And! VOILA!

Nice, clean, sanitary, ( sane ) organized space.

Ah, that feels nice.

The Joy of Womanhood

Margaret D. Nadauld, former Young Women general president:

“Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. … We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith”

(“The Joy of Womanhood,” Liahona, Jan. 2001, 18; Ensign, Nov. 2000, 15).

Chew on that!

Fall is here...for one and for all!

We spent today celebrating Fall and family!
It was a day full of food, fun and games.

The girls played croquet with the adorable pictures above.
Then it was ring toss with the witch and her spooky house!
There was a little bowling lane, pony rides, and carmel corn...

Mostly, we walked around and looked at stuff.
We cruised through the dinosaur museum, farm country, and the gardens.
The fall foliage was absolutely stunning!!!

Happy Fall Ya'll!
And great big smiles too...

Healthy Living Challenge!!!

So I'm starting a Healthy Living Competition with some friends.
Points:
  • 3 Workout points: - 20 minutes = 1 point- 45 minutes = 2 points- 60 minutes or more = 3 points
  • 1 Posting - For reporting in
  • 1 Water - 8 - 8oz cups or more a day
  • 1 Supplements - take a good multi vitamin! It makes a huge difference!
  • 1 Whole Grains - No white flour, white pasta, etc
  • 1 No Skippy - NO SKIPPING MEALS OR SNACKS!!! You should be eating every 2-3 hours!
  • 1 No sugar - No sugar, no junk! Some things will have sugar, and that's okay (bread, for example) We're talking candy, cookies, cake, etc.
  • 1 3-hour rule - Don't eat for at least 3 hours before you go to bed.

That would be 10 points possible each day. My goal for this week is an average of 9 points per day or 63 points total. Wish me luck!!!
